Change of FEAR- Not HOPE!

Author: Ernie Fitzpatrick

I remember the days of stopping before the TV to hear Barack Obama speak to my HEART. He reminded me of John and Bobby (Kennedy). I not only wanted to BELIEVE- I DID! Could it be true? Was there a man that was different and would break the D.C. partisan politics of FEAR?

Now after eight months of the Obama presidency, the answer is NO!

Partisanship went out the window long ago if it was ever IN! Obama has said if need be he WILL (future tense) go it alone without the Republicans. He WILL or he HAS (since he’s not met with any Republican House leaders regarding the healthcare bill since last April)?

I am writing an hour before his speech; however, the White House release some of the excerpts. Does this sound like OPTIMISM and HOPE?

“We have seen scare tactics by Republicans”.
“If we do nothing our deficits will grow”.
“More families will go bankrupt if we don’t act.”
“More businesses will close of my bill isn’t passed.”
“More will die”.

That’s FEAR pure and simple! And the rest of the speech that I read was pure partisan political BS! I doubt the Republicans could do any better, but this isn’t an issue of Democrat vs. Republican, it’s about how LEADERSHIP goes to the head of the LEADER and changes the leader into something and someone different.

When the PRINCE becomes the KING the loving child-like nature becomes tyrannical and dictatorial. It happens to Republicans and Democrats alike. Obama is just the latest evidence that campaign rhetoric is CHEAP and worth damn little once the prince becomes the KING!

Obama’s speeches no longer encurage me!

Where is the 2004, “There isn’t a liberal America,. nor a conservative America, just a United States of America” stuff?
